Sunday Nugget- Crescent Of What?

Well someone obviously forgot...
Normally Sundays are about a point of Scripture from the day's readings. I'll be getting to that. But first I must say something about 9/11 and the ridiculous memorial plans in Pennsylvania. Now I don't always buy into the conspiracy theories that can be hatched around sensitive subjects like Flight 93 and it's memorial. It seems Interesting to me that this design won. I personally find it offensive not because of a group of trees planted in an arch-- but that the word "Crescent" is even used anywhere near this site. The crescent is the symbol of Islam, whose radical elements created this. These architects are educated men. They know the power of symbol and it's use in art and design. I've been to art school myself and it is one of the primary lessons. So why would people accept such a horrendous memorial? There are indeed more elements that invoke the terrorists than the heroes who saved countless people in Washington by crashing the plane in midflight. I don't want to see a "Crescent of Embrace" I want to see a "Cross of Sacrifice" because THAT is what happened there on 9/11. It was far from politically correct.
One must always remember, as our reading today says, "The Lord is kind and merciful, slow to anger, and rich in compassion." Quite a difference from the "Allah" who sent these men to kill and destroy and is still threatening terror. For them the readings have "Wrath and anger are hateful things, yet the sinner hugs them tight. The vengeful will suffer the LORD’s vengeance, for he remembers their sins in detail."
Peace and Blessings today.
