NHL players donate sticks to help support NHL alumni
The National Hockey League (NHL), the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), and the NHL Alumni Association announced today a joint effort to raise money for former NHL players in need. More than 700 game-used sticks from the last regular-season home game of all 30 NHL Member Clubs will be auctioned on-line to benefit "Hockey's Greatest Family Fund." The online auction starts today and concludes at the end of May. Sticks from Toronto, Ottawa, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia will start the auction and be up for bid until May 5. Hockey fans can register and bid on their favorite player's stick at auctions.nhl.com. Winning bidders will receive a Certificate of Authenticity.
