Pope Benedict says Jihad not God’s plan

You bet it isn't.

Pope Benedict XVI weighed on the delicate issue of rapport between Islam and the West on Tuesday, saying violence embodied in the Muslim idea of jihad is contrary to reason and God’s plan while the West was so beholden to reason that Islam could not understand it.

I can hear the rumblings of the talking spiritual heads who will condemn his very realistic condemnation of the violent tendencies of the extremist as a condemnation of all Islam. Wait a minute...you mean he didn't condemn all of Islam? What would Jesus do?
