Cyber Monday
The term cybermonday is a neologism invented by Shop.org, part of the U.S. trade association National Retail Federation. It was first appeared in the ecommerce community during the 2005 holiday season. Scott Silverman, the head of Shop.org, said the term was coined based on research showing that 77% of online retailers reported a significant increase in sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving in 2004. The tradition of surfing for deals on cyber monday is becoming more and more popular.
Cybermonday has been associated with Thanksgiving day sales and Black Friday. But cybermonday is different in that it is shopping done completely online. It is a day that the industry sets aside for searching for the best deals in cyberspace. Which makes it great because, at the rate our retail promotions overlap, we may be fighting for product space with Calentine's Day in November.
Currently I am searching musical instruments on cybermonday.org, just for the fun of it! And I'm finding some great deals on keyboards, percussion and vst instruments at Music123 and Musicians Friend. Not every shop is listed on there but there are enough to find a bargain. And it seems that any interest will find a place here.
It is a matter of concience how much time you want to spend shopping. In our fast paced world it is one more thing to clutter peace out of our schedule. You could bypass quality time with your loved one. I mean that even though you are together, your shopping mis-adventures could knock the quality part down a notch. So why not consolidate shopping to one site and get your gift buying "wrapped up" [pun intended]. The convenience of Cyber Monday can not be overstated. To be able to search for products you are interested in without spending a lifetime on google is tremendous. Search in one spot for all your needs.
