Octuplet Mom and The Media
I love the press...especially it's lopsided idea of fairness. I'm watching the media piranhas devour the story of the mother of the octuplets and her other children as if their privacy and the decision to have more children were actually up for public debate. However if say the story broke that Michelle Obama wanted to have an abortion it would be a matter of utmost privacy. Apparently a woman's right to give birth to children is much less important than her right to terminate a life. It seems so well...media. It is tiring the way the media tries to tell us what is right...like the way they tried to sell us President Obama as America's last hope. I didn't buy it and watching his administration unfold it may actually entail America's last stand, with Obama cast as Custer.
I fear our country is slowly slipping into that cesspool of socialism where the forbidden lovechild of the state and media tells you why it's leaders and their philosophies are the end all of greatness. Soon enough our networks will air Obama 24/7. It feels like they are doing it already. I mean he already preempted the World Series and the Super Bowl with his egotistic attempts to look presidential. And the constant incessant interviews about nothing. Am I the only one who sees the set up here? The media is "portraying" him and ignoring the fact that nearly half of American's did NOT vote for him.
The objective press is dead but for a few outlets...generally conservative... Outlets which are now under fire by the president himself and his "fairness doctrine" cronies. Heaven help us, when the state starts dictating OUR reproductive rights. Think it can't happen? Since Obama has been in office he has repealed the ban on funding for countries using abortion for population control, countries with stellar human rights records like China. Can't happen here? Yes it can with a stimulus bill with ammendments to fund Planned Parenthood, since according to House Speaker Pelosi, contraception and abortion stimulates the economy! One of my favorite conservative commentators exclaimed, "it's certainly about stimulus, but not the economy". And the media's open invasion of privacy with the octuplet mom is just a precursor. It will only be so long before some one will say, "We've got to do something about this...We've got to regulate fertility clinics, regulate the births, eight embryos is too much. 7, 6, 5." Soon after natural quadruplets will be too much and on and on. And the scary thing is our big new regime will almost certainly oblige.
