If your jaw dropped while listening to Jill Carroll's statements after her release, this may not come as a surprise to you. It is being reported that she was threatened prior to her release not to cooperate with the Americans. My wife and I surmised this right away. We also were a bit disturbed about that scarf and robe. Perhaps Jill didn't want to offend Muslims but had it been me I'd have opted for a baseball cap with a flag on it and the words, "These Colors Don't Run".
More at Michelle Malkin.
So what words would you have on your baseball cap?

Today is the one year anniversary of the killing of Terri Schiavo. Her "loving" husband is now married and the "media" has moved on with him. But we haven't. Some of us remember that her's was a life snuffed by convenience, by the courts, and by a man who would not even relinquish a child to her parents for care, even after he no longer thought her worthy of such care.
To the Left and the Culture of Death it is now but a blip on the radar. But for those who love life it is monumentally significant. So significant that it took a Pope to compare and contrast. Now we have a new depth and meaning to light our Lenten seasons.
Terri, we remember you. Thank you for having lived and brought "Life" to the Culture of Death. Enjoy God's embrace. You earned it here on earth.
Get involved...Terri's day at The Kevin Fobbs Show.

MUSLIMS in Albania's northern city of Shkoder are opposing plans to erect a statue to Mother Teresa, the ethnic Albanian Catholic nun in line for elevation to sainthood by the Vatican.
Here's a challenge to the Muslims. Name ONE Muslim who has done more good in the world and I'LL erect a statue to them in my own front yard. These "sensitive" people will probably point to the 9/11 hijackers as an example. These people are thankless and ignorant. Such a great figure coming from their own country and they are afraid of getting their "Muslim" feeling hurt. Boooooo Hoooooo!
Of course they don't respect any religion but their own. If you've heard of a comparable Muslim philanthropist, let me know.

Michelle Malkin is reporting that Mr. Rahman has recieved asylum in Italy... others however have been left behind with little information coming out of Afganistan due to the "sensitive situation" created by the Rahman case. My quetion is "Sensitive for whom?"I truly believe we should not back a country that kills "infidels"... bottom line.

"Asked whether the U.S. government was doing anything to secure Rahman's safety after his release, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said in Washington that where he goes after being freed is "up to Mr. Rahman." He urged Afghans not to resort to violence even if they are unhappy with the resolution of the case."
What the...? That's a bit like urging a dog not to bark, or a bear not to sh*t in the woods! I hate to say I told you so, but if Rahman ends up dead (keep an eye on Al Jezeera for film at eleven), well I did tell you.

KABUL (Reuters) - The fate of an Afghan man who could face the death penalty for converting to Christianity rested with prosecutors on Monday, amid expectations the case will be dropped and he will be released. Abdur Rahman, 40, was jailed this month for rejecting Islam and converting to Christianity. Death is the punishment stipulated by sharia, or Islamic law, for apostasy -- abandonment of the faith. The case has raised a storm of protest in the West, threatening to create a rift between Afghanistan and the United States and other Western backers who have called for the man's release.

I have seen a growing trend among parents in an effort to safeguard their children. They become members of Myspace with profiles on their children's friends list. I have one as do several of the parents of their friend and my children's youth directors as well. I opted for the parental supervision angle after the Taylor Behl murder explaining internet safety to my kids. I allow them their personal conversations and bulletins. I monitor them from time to time and only see the occasional offensive bulletin now and then.
The key here is that we talk about "social networking" openly. We praise it's ability to connect people together. My daughter has made contacted with many of her school friends from Minnesota and it has been good for her that way. But we also talk about the dangers. And the most important rule is NO real life meeting outside of Myspace. If you did not know them before Myspace you cannot know their motives for being your friend.
Here is a great article...similar to my story with some great tips of safety. I didn't make an alias but was upfront right away. When my kids went online with their profiles, I asked them to add me and told them why. I visit them and leave goofy comments and things, and the funny thing is...they appreciate it.

Rejecting Islam is insulting God. We will not allow God to be humiliated. This man must die," said cleric Abdul Raoulf, regarding Christian convert Abdul Rahman.
The only thing more repulsive to me than this statement is probably a burning bag of dung on my doorstep. As a matter of fact that is a terrific metaphor for this situation. BTW, how can a human humiliate God? As a student of spirituality and God, I sometimes compare the different religious texts about God in an attempt to understand Him better through the ways humanity has been experiencing Him.
One of my favorite sources, outside of the Bible is the Upanishads. These hindu texts try to narrow down the experience of God the eternal to it's most profound contemplative level. I find that many of the great mystics of the Christian faith, Julian of Norwich, Teresa Of Avila, and John of the Cross, have a similar experience in their deepest contemplation as the hindu mystics. The similarity? When one enters into God's presence and goes beyond word and image (the human constructs of our understanding) God remains incomprehensible and thouroughly MORE than our concepts can explain.
Experience of the ages shows NOONE can claim to know God's thoughts, outside of the revelation He gives in the scriptures. These scriptures are man's way of making sense of the incomprehensible, within the limited expressions of word and image.
This is all to say that I believe no man can speak for God in the way this cleric is speaking. To insinuate that you can is to deny how GREAT and OTHER God really is. Also let me state that I do not believe the Koran is a revelation from God. I believe it is a conquerors handbook disguised as a holy book. It, like the Book of Mormon, is an example of a text whose origin and vision is shared by only one person, it's author. The other religious texts fall into a category where their development is shared by numerous people and drawn together by scholarship.
If God were so insulted and humiliated, it would not take a cleric or a fascist religion of murder to right the wrong. Just ask the folks of Sodom, Lot's wife, or Ananias and Sapphira.
God handles his own "bid'ness" just fine. He doesn't need any meddling Mullahs in there confusing things.

State, ACLU settlement will cost $700,000
By ASSOCIATED PRESSMarch 23, 2006SANTA FE (AP) - A settlement reached by the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico and the state Children, Youth and Families Department over conditions within the juvenile justice system will cost the state more than $700,000.The two sides signed an agreement last month that requires security improvements, increased mental health programs and rehabilitation services in juvenile detention facilities across the state, among other things. Also under the agreement, the ACLU promised not to pursue litigation as long as CYFD makes a good faith effort to implement changes. The money part of the settlement includes $220,000 for the six months that ACLU attorneys spent preparing their lawsuit and $400,000 for the attorneys to monitor CYFD's compliance over the next four years.Another $85,000 was paid to six former residents of the New Mexico Boys School in Springer and one former female resident at an Albuquerque juvenile jail as compensation for physical injuries received from guards and other inmates and for insufficient medical and mental health care.Attorney and former juvenile jail superintendent Justin Pennington said paying the ACLU to hold CYFD accountable is "nonsense" because the organization is not in a position to enforce the settlement agreement."The better course would have been to file the case and have it enforced by the court," he said.Peter Simonson, the organization's executive director, said the ACLU is in a better position to monitor CYFD because of its expertise. As for the teens who were compensated, ALCU attorney Peter Cubra said seven will receive about $12,000 each because of civil rights violations while in juvenile jails. One teen suffered a broken arm at the hands of a guard and another wasn't treated for hepatitis, Cubra said.Outgoing CYFD Secretary Mary-Dale Bolson said the payments were not an admission that any harm was done but a response to "large-scale threatened litigation."

That equates to a half a million dollar take for the ACLU through bullying and possibly extortion. It seems to me that the only ones being fairly (well) compensated are the ACLU and NOT those whose rights were violated. And asking attorneys to monitor compliance is like letting the ACLU be judge, jury, and executioner.

A TEENAGER who is bravely fighting an aggressive form of cancer has left his sick bed to help a struggling charity. Jeff Vipond is being cared for at the Sick Kids Hospital after doctors discovered a tumour growing near his stomach. The diagnosis was the latest setback for the plucky 15-year-old who was successfully treated for a brain tumour four years ago. During his treatment, Jeff and his family have been supported by the Children with Cancer and Leukaemia Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP). After Jeff discovered CCLASP could close its doors within months, the youngster decided to organise a sponsored walk through Holyrood Park. The event was dubbed Jeff's Green Jaunt after the football fan, who normally uses a wheelchair, ensured his friends and family were all wearing Hibs strips before embarking on the walk. "It was all Jeff's idea," said his mother Molly Vipond, 36, a cleaner from Wester Drylaw Drive. "He wanted to put something back into a service that was vital to us. Read More...

Should you value your own life and security, accept Muslims' demands, but if you shall prefer death (over giving in to Muslims' demands). Then, we, by the grace of Allah, are the best in bringing it (death) to your door steps.

I will thank you, for you listened to me, and became my saviour.
The stone that the builders rejected has become the corner-stone.It was the Lord who did this – it is marvellous to behold. This is the day that was made by the Lord: let us rejoice today, and be glad.
Lord, keep me safe; O Lord, let me prosper! Psalm 118

ACLU Asks Federal Court to Block Illegal Spying Program, Citing “Concrete Harm” to Americans
In legal papers filed today before Judge Anna Diggs Taylor in Detroit, the ACLU pointed to the "concrete harm" of the illegal spying program to its clients, saying it disrupts their ability to "talk with sources, locate witnesses, conduct scholarship and engage in advocacy." "To avoid the giant ear of the NSA, journalists and lawyers now have to make expensive trips overseas to speak with their sources and clients," said ACLU Associate Legal Director and lead counsel Ann Beeson. "We are asking the court to halt the illegal spying program now to prevent even more harm to the free speech and privacy rights of Americans."Read more...
They say no one is above the law...yet the ACLU continues to go around the law-makers to get radical judges to create ones to suit them.

"Yemeni prosecutors have called for a newspaper editor to be sentenced to death for showing cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, his paper says. Muhammad al-Asadi was arrested after his publication, the Yemen Observer, showed the Danish cartoons in February. He denies the charges of offending Islam, under which he is being tried."
"The paper's website reported that the prosecution lawyers cited precedents from Muslim history when the prophet was insulted by a woman and then praised her killer."
John 8:4-11The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

"Many people dream about owning their first home. Now the Federal Home Bank of Pittsburgh is helping to make that dream a reality for Delawareans."It's basically a down payment, closing cost assistance program for first time homebuyers," said David Buches. All they're asking is that the first time homebuyer go to at least four hours of credit counseling."If there are some credit issues, if there are some things or questions you have about the process, if you need help or even how to look for a home...There's a lot of things you can provide that will really put you way ahead," said Mike Skipper. Then if you qualify, the First Front Door program could give up to five thousand dollars."If you are looking to buy a house and you have only a thousand dollars cash that you have available or to put down for a final cost, then the Federal Home Loan Bank program would match by giving three thousand dollars toward that. You'd end up with four thousand dollars cash," Buches said. The money is given in the form of a loan. But there's a catch. The first time homebuyer must stay in the house for five years, and they won't have to re-pay the loan. Read More...

Why, Christ himself, innocent though he was, had died once for sins, died for the guilty, to lead us to God. In the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life, and, in the spirit, he went to preach to the spirits in prison. Now it was long ago, when Noah was still building that ark which saved only a small group of eight people ‘by water’, and when God was still waiting patiently, that these spirits refused to believe. That water is a type of the baptism which saves you now, and which is not the washing off of physical dirt but a pledge made to God from a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has entered heaven and is at God’s right hand, now that he has made the angels and Dominations and Powers his subjects.1 Peter 3:18 - 22

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (BP)--The government funding for a faith-based abstinence program called Silver Ring Thing was suspended last August but now it will be ended altogether, due to a persistent attack by the American Civil Liberties Union. The program can be eligible to compete for federal grants in the future only if it ensures that the money will not be used for religious purposes. The agreement between the Department of Health and Human Services and the ACLU was reached Feb. 22, according to the Associated Press. In August, when funding for the program was temporarily lifted pending further investigation, Carol Rose, executive director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, said, "These programs have been proved not only ineffective, but also dangerous to the health and well-being of teens."Joel Oster, senior legal counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, the group representing Silver Ring Thing in the lawsuit, wondered if Rose could possibly be serious in her assessment."Programs like Silver Ring Thing have been proven to be effective," he said. "Leave it to the ACLU to come to the absurd conclusion that abstinence programs are dangerous to the health of teens."Silver Ring Thing received more than $1 million in federal funding during the past three years, but the ACLU complained that the rings teenagers receive when they pledge to remain sexually abstinent until marriage are inscribed with a Bible verse and the potential for Jesus to improve their lives is too often touted.
