Families can to come out to the ballpark to enjoy the excitement of Your Shorebirds Baseball and the joy of fellowship at Mountaire’s Faith & Family Day, Sunday, July 30th. The day will feature support of area houses from worship and messages of faith, along with one of Delmarva’s largest corporate community partners—Mountaire Farms. Together everyone will be raising awareness and funds for The Joseph House, which helps Delmarva’s less fortunate. Mountaire’s Faith & Family Day starts at 1:35pm on Sunday, July 30 with gates opening at 12:35pm. A portion of all that day’s ticket revenue will be donated to The Joseph House.
After the final out of the game, families will continue to be entertained with a FREE post game concert! First, enjoy personal testimonies from two of Your Delmarva Shorebirds, RHP, Blake Owen and RHP, Reid Hamblet, who have volunteered to share their personal story and their own walk of faith with the fans. Then, hang out in the outfield and enjoy the music of the hottest new band currently climbing the Christian music charts, Building 429 as they perform in the Shorebirds Picnic Pavilion. The opening act will be Mountaire’s own “When You Believe” featured this year at Mountaire’s 2006 Gospel Talent Search. Clear Channel Radio’s Q 105 FM is a proud partner of Faith & Family Day and will be on hand to host all the excitement.
”Mountaire is proud to be teaming up with The Shorebirds to help support the First Annual Faith & Family Day.” ROGER MARINO, CORPORATE DIRECTOR OF PR AND COMMUNICATIONS for Mountaire Farms, stated. “It will be a wonderful opportunity to raise money for a truly worthy cause, The Joseph House.”
Mountaire Farms' annual contributions and employee community outreach programs touch thousands of persons in church communities, educational institutions and non-profit agencies in Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina. One of their largest community events is the Mountaire Gospel Talent Search where each year more than 120 churches compete in children, youth and adult categories for $30,000 in prize money.
”Your Delmarva Shorebirds are once again using America’s Pastime to bring Families across Delmarva together for a very unique and rewarding event.” STEPHEN C. YAROS, Your Shorebirds General Manager stated. “It’s literally a Grand Slam Event, with the musical talents of Building 429, the support of Shorebirds players like Blake Owen and Reid Hamblet all helping to increase awareness and funds for one of Delmarva’s finest charities – The Joseph House.”
The Joseph House is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, which helps the poor. Its services such as the food pantry, emergency financial assistance, and job readiness training for homeless men all help the poor become more self-sufficient, productive citizens. The Joseph House has always depended upon free-will offerings to fund those services, and receives no money from the government or the United Way. So Faith and Family Day is the Eastern Shore’s opportunity to help!
Building 429 are Warner Bros. recording artists and 2005's Dove Award Winning New Artist of the Year. Building 429 believe that with their newfound success, added responsibility and are eager to use their newfound influence to serve God fearlessly. Building 429 pushes on unapologetically with clear honest and open faith through their music. The concert is produced in association with Young and Associates.
