What To Do For Lent

A discipline that is often undertaken during lent is to give up some pleasurable habit or undesirable trait as an offering and a reminder of Jesus' coming death and resurrection as it is celebrated in the church calendar.
Having lost my cool with my local school board over an incident on my son's school bus on Wednesday... I reflected on Ash Wednesday's reading regarding being Christ's "ambassadors". It didn't go over too well and I felt ambiguous about it. I have decided that as my son's ambassador, so to speak, I was doing what was my duty in his respect.
I have been also running a lot of stories about the Islamic takeover of Europe and the Cartoon Jihad. As an ambassador of Christ (or as a citizen of the free world for that matter), I personally cannot equate "winning the hearts and minds" of the Muslims with accepting Islamic law as a sign of respect or a governing force. The two are not equal or reciprocal.
I am reading and will be reviewing "Credo" for the Mind and Media group. I think that is a fine place to start in reaffirming this belief of mine and being an ambassador to it.
The difference between this and representing Mohammed seems to be between "speaking the truth in love", or demanding dhimmitude with threats and terror.
